Making the Most of Your Outdoor Space – AND Boosting Home Value

Happy But Not Happy!

We were always happy with the interior of our home in Columbus, Ohio. It has suited our lifestyle and given us many happy years as the family grew from two to three….and more. Oh well!

We led busy lives and were always going to get around to improving our outdoor space, not a garden but quite a considerable area of paving and driveway that was okay to look at but hardly inspirational. While the inside of our home was something to be proud of, the outside was, well, underwhelming if there is such a word.

That’s when we finally bit the bullet and thought we were never going to get around to doing landscaping of any kind ourselves and it was time to bring in the experts. We wanted an Inspired Design so contacting a company with that name proved serendipitous – now that is a word (finding something or someone by chance that proves to be delightful, don’t you know!)

We had read the reviews as anyone should and they seemed very positive and we were attracted to the idea of having an initial consultation that would take our ideas forward. They proved prompt and didn’t try to blind us with science. In fact, it was more like a collaboration than employing a contractor who gets on with things while you wait for the finished product.

We were involved in every step of the way. Not that it impinged on our valuable time, we were glad to contribute to the process as it made what transpired a part of us rather than theirs if that makes sense.

Our front area was turned into a beautiful space with a great combination of concrete and plants providing just the aesthetics we were looking for. The patio area was unique – well they were our ideas – and now is a place where we love to sit and eat in and where our children love to relax and do their homework. (They were even inspired to keep it clean and tidy….)

But best of all was the outdoor kitchen that we had installed that leads onto the patio. The stonework incorporated into the design was exceptional. We now probably spend more time eating outdoors than indoors, especially during the summer months.

One old friend visited and joked – “Have you moved to a better place!”

That’s what it felt like!
